Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot featuring angels, demons, and sinister influences increasing in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season are included.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The third episode ended with a huge suspense moment and revealed the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the primary party to begin their independent quest, distinct from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team consists of the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Given a large ensemble, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at one table would be unworkable.
Hence, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Warriors, Strategists, and Seekers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per the DM, the warrior group is for participants who prefer a classically intense battle-oriented narrative style where diplomatic options are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might appear unsuited, but the events of episode 3 make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group knows exactly where to go next after a brutal first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise started the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, attacking the character, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The traitor then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each adventurer has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, desires revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the region and warns that it is a dangerous location.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having resisted his family’s wishes to execute the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- However, their position as prominent individuals in the powerful family could assist the party reach areas they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The fighter pledged a eternal obligation to Wicander for his salvation and will now follow him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the rulers that rule Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:
- The rogue and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and Wicander turned against the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- Teor is marked for death by the clan.
This leaves them little choice but to travel to the northern region in pursuit of the traitor.
