I will overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" the American as the pair met personally to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Former two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive mismatch - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

Despite these statements, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather attacked ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving substantial earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary confrontation, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
